You, or someone you love is sick and off to the hospital we go. Probably you will be worried or frightened in this situation. Occasionally, physicians have to perform special tests in order to diagnose your problem. Among these important tests, a biopsy is one such test. For example, it helps let doctors know about your health.
Your doctor cannot tell what is happening to you just by looking at you, or when your feeling unwell with those symptoms that make you uneasy. A biopsy like this can be truly beneficial here. Biopsy Is a thing which use very tiny tool to take the little piece of body part from your body. Now, doctors can watch this sample under a magnifying glass to find out if there is some type of problem—like a disease or sickness.
This is a scary word, cancer… but the idea of a biopsy is how doctors can detect if you have it. Cancer cells when born inside the body looks no different to a normal, healthy cell. That is why it can be difficult for a doctor to know whether something is wrong based on exam alone. A biopsy is only a small sample of the tissue that provides an opportunity to check for cancer cells. This step is important in that early identification may be critical to treatment and recovery.
Biopsies come in several flavors, and each has their own role to play. Section below --- Type: needle biopsy. This type requires a needle delicate enough to go inside the body and take tissue sample. The other type is termed as endoscopic biopsy. This is for a special type done with an endoscopy, which uses a little camera so the doctor can look inside your body.
Single fine-needle biopsy: Before a needle biopsy, a doctor will inject lidocaine into the skin to numb it. This serve as an analgesic, so the person needs not to worry having any pain. Once the region is numb, the physician cautiously introduces a needle to acquire some of the cells. This sample is then transported to a lab where experts will conduct various tests and investigations.
Endoscopic biopsy: The doctor looks inside the body with a tiny camera to see where it is best to take the tissue. The doctor can see where to sample with this camera. They use special tools to collect this tissue from the site they want to study. The sample is then sent to a lab for further analysis, just as with a needle biopsy.
It can be a scary process to go to the hospital for a biopsy, but remember — it is all being done with the ultimate goal of making you feel better. I felt anxious about my own biopsy the first time I got it done at the hospital. However, the doctors and nurses were really nice about it and they took me through everything so I was a lot more reassured in what to expect. They took a needle biopsy of my heart.
